Levi 501 Regular Fit Mens Jeans - Black
Levi's 501 Original Classic Mens Jeans - Black:
The Levi's 501 is the "original" jean - the first made by Levi Strauss & Co back in 1873.
The fit has been updated periodically between then and now but the 501 stays true to its roots with a traditional western 5-pocket jean design, a great regular fit and a straight leg, with the signature Levi's embossed button fly. The 501 sits regular on the waist, and has a very slightly tapered straight leg which measures approximately 8 inches across, or 16 inches round on a 30" waist pair.
The 501, as always has a button fly.
Classic 501 features include an unwashed leather Levi's "horses" patch on the rear waist, a Levi's Red Tab on the rear pocket and signature "V" stitching on the back pockets.
Please note, that due to Levi's trademarking some of these features, approximately 1 in every 10 pairs of Levi's now has a blank red tab which does not bear the Levi's logo.
The 501 is full of heritage and was originally designed for workmen, so they have to be extremely durable. To this day they are still made from a heavyweight 100% cotton denim and are built to last. Copper rivets at vital stress points on the jeans keep "wear and tear" to a minimum.

Levi's Jeans (Levi Strauss & Co) was founded in 1853 by Levi Strauss in San Francisco, California - USA. Strauss invented the first pair of blue denim jeans in 1873. Denim "Waist Overalls", as they were then known, were produced for workers throughout the 1870's and evolved over the next few decades into the modern day jean. Production of modern jeans has been ongoing since the 1920's, with new fits and styles being introduced over this period - These have expanded to create an extensive range of different jeans, so there are a pair of Levi's for anyone. Whether you like your jeans loose, skinny, bootcut, flared, high waisted or low waisted - there will be a pair of Levi's for you. Various types of "stonewashing", bleaching and other techniques have been used to give a lot of modern jeans a distressed look, but Levi's have also stayed true to their roots and the original 501 jeans in flat finishes are still as popular as ever.
