At Jean Store we love the collections that bring a new and fresh outlook to denim styling and so Kings of Indigo just had to feature in our range. The Kings of India story started in Amsterdam back in 2010 with the brand being the brainchild of three denim fans who were brave enough to ignore the challenging financial climate and to forge ahead with a new label.
Kings of Indigo was launched in 2011 and the name (K.O.I.) was inspired by founder Tony tonnaer's favourite tattoo which was a koi carp that he had been drawn in memory of his mother. He chose the image of a Koi because the fish are intelligent and enjoy swimming against the tide. These qualities reflected his mother. The metaphor of rebellion seemed to be the perfect fit for those who enjoy the denim lifestyle and certainly for a new collection that offered something that little bit different.
The Kings of Indigo jeans collection is notable for styles which offer a fabulous blend of American classic inspiration and an amazing attention to detail. These are jeans which get better over time with the fit taking on your body shape and the wash leading the denim to reflect your life and the way you wear your jeans.
The jeans are classically stylish but are also fashioned with environmental concerns in mind. Each style is made using organic cotton and recycled yarn from left over fabric and used garments. In this way the negative impacts of intensive cotton farming are avoided and waste is minimised. The denim is died with natural indigo, one of the oldest methods of colouring clothing. As a result there is a wonderful depth of colour in Kings of India designs and denim which patterns uniquely with wear to produce your jeans, not just any jeans.
We are sure that you will find much to admire in the Kings of Indigo collection which we are delighted to feature here at Jean Store. The slim and skinny styles for men offer great fits in jeans which are fashioned with passion and which are also kind to the environment. What more could you ask for?
