Vans was founded in 1966 and fifty years later remains an eminently cool collection. The company began life as a modest shop in Anaheim, California which was opened by Paul Van Doren and three partners. It was unique in that the shoes were fashioned on site. 12 pairs of shoes were purchased on the opening day. These were #44 deck shoes which are now known as Authentic.
The sticky soles of Vans' shoes soon attracted the attention of the Californian skateboarders. In the 1970's the Vans #95 now known as the Era was created with skateboarders in mind. It was to become the favourite shoe for a generation of skateboarders. Vans had truly hit the mark. The company went from strength to strength and Vans footwear began to become popular internationally.
Shoes were evolved for a variety of sports including basketball and baseball and Vans slips-ons became a worldwide phenomenon after they were worn by Sean Penn in the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". After a brief spell of financial difficulties which were the result of diversification, the company resumed its successful journey. Today Vans continue to deliver outstanding, on trend styles.
These days the Vans collection is about more than the footwear. The range also features a fabulous denim collection which we are delighted to bring you here at Jean Store. With raw denim, skinny jeans, and black jeans to choose from, men's Vans jeans offer plenty to please.
