A great range of knitwear and sweatshirts from Pretty Green
Perhaps few people would have the courage to start a fashion label with the express purpose of catering for themselves but that is what Liam Gallagher did. Tired with struggling to find the fashions he wanted to wear, in 2009 Gallagher began producing them instead and as it turned out he wasn't alone in his tastes.
Gallagher had fallen in love with Mod culture after watching the movie Quadrophenia. All things Mod are in his blood and so it is no surprise that Pretty Green clothing is very much inspired by 60's and 70's Mod styles. The collection only features pieces which Liam would be happy to wear himself and does offer something truly different from the mainstream. What else would you expect of a man who has always gone his own way?
The collection, however, has certainly struck a chord, whether or not Liam genuinely did launch it for stylistic rather than financial reasons. The retro cool, Mod with a twist, rock and roll designs have proved to be incredibly popular with men of ages and there is a timeless quality to the range that makes it extremely versatile. Simplicity is key as is quality and perhaps that air of sharpness is what has really won the day.
The name Pretty Green was also Mod inspired as it was the title of a song by The Jam who were very much the leaders of the Mod revival. The band's lead singer Paul Weller if often called the Modfather and has collaborated with Pretty Green in designing collections for the label.
We are big fans of Pretty Green here at Jean Store. You can't help admiring the single minded approach that Gallagher has adopted and the clothing is undeniably cool. You will find shirts, jackets, accessories, jeans and, of course, knitwear in the range and we are confident that you will discover plenty to please with Pretty Green. It is an award winning collection born of a passion and you can feel that in every piece.
